Clean Tables & Spreadsheets

Extract messy unstructured notes into clean tables ready for Excel or Notion.

Why this matters

Lists in paragraphs are hard to copy into a spreadsheet. A table pastes cleanly into Excel, Google Sheets, or Notion.

Paragraphs Are Hard to Copy

AI usually writes bullet points. A Markdown table can be pasted straight into Excel, Google Sheets, or Notion.

In real life: AI usually writes bullet points. A Markdown table uses | and --- to draw columns, and spreadsheets understand it.

Name the Columns in Order

List the exact columns you want, like "| Item | Department | Qty | Priority |". The table then matches your sheet.

In real life: Write the column names in the order you want. Then the table matches your sheet without any editing.

Ask for the Table Only

Tell the AI to output only the table, with no introduction and no closing remarks.

In real life: When a colleague sends a spreadsheet, you want the file, not a long email about it. Saying "table only" gives you the file.

Your practice task

Convert the messy supply request message into a clean Markdown table with exactly 4 columns: | Item | Department | Qty | Priority |. Return ONLY the table with zero introductory or closing remarks.

How to do it

  1. Read the supply request above.
  2. Ask for a Markdown table.
  3. Write the exact column names: | Item | Department | Qty | Priority |.
  4. Say: output only the table. Then press Run proof.

Practice it for free in the app. You get instant checks that show what you got right and what to fix. A lesson takes about two minutes and you can try as many times as you like.

Quick reference: Markdown Table Lock

Paste output directly into Google Sheets, Excel, or Notion tables.

Format the output as a Markdown table with these columns:
| Column 1 | Column 2 | Column 3 |
| --- | --- | --- |
Output ONLY the table. Do not include any text before or after.
