Teaching by Example
Show the AI two quick examples so it copies your exact style.
Why this matters
Sometimes the easiest way to explain what you want is to show it. Two examples can replace a paragraph of instructions.
Examples Teach Better Than Words
"Short and professional" means different things to different people. Two real examples show the AI exactly what you want.
In real life: If you ask a tailor for "a smart shirt", you may get anything. If you hand over two shirts you like, the result matches. Examples work the same way for AI.
Start Each Example the Same Way
Begin every example with the same labels, such as REVIEW: then CODE:. The AI sees the pattern and repeats it.
In real life: In a school register every line reads "Name: Ada, Class: 5". Because the lines follow one pattern, you can add a new line without thinking. The AI copies patterns in the same way.
End With an Empty Label
Finish your message with the label and leave it empty, like CODE:. The AI will fill in only that part.
In real life: It is like a quiz sheet that ends with "Answer: ____". The blank tells you exactly where to write. A blank "CODE:" tells the AI where its answer goes.
Your practice task
Teach the AI to tag customer reviews using few-shot examples in this format: [CATEGORY-SENTIMENT] :: Summary (Action: Next step), where SENTIMENT can be POS (positive), NEG (negative), or MIX (mixed). Then have it tag the review below and reply with just the CODE line.
How to do it
- Write two example reviews, each followed by the answer line you want (start it with CODE:).
- Use the exact format [CATEGORY-SENTIMENT] :: Summary (Action: Next step).
- Add the new review and end with a blank CODE: line.
- Press Run proof.
Practice it for free in the app. You get instant checks that show what you got right and what to fix. A lesson takes about two minutes and you can try as many times as you like.
Quick reference: Two-Example Template
Ending with a blank "CODE:" tells the AI to fill in only that part.
Copy the exact style of these examples. Reply with only the CODE line. REVIEW: <example review 1> CODE: <your ideal answer 1> REVIEW: <example review 2> CODE: <your ideal answer 2> REVIEW: [Paste your text here] CODE:
